Founded in 1957 by Phillip and Mike Holmes as the Holmes Brick and Salvage Company, Holmes Building Materials is a family-owned business now spanning four generations. Our original salvage store was destroyed by fire in 1967, leading to the construction of a new home center. This transformation laid the foundation for what we have today. Currently led by John and Matthew Holmes, the father-son duo has expanded our services and reach. Holmes Building Materials now operates two full-service lumber yards/hardware stores in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs, Louisiana. Additionally, we have a specialized flooring showroom (Flooring By Holmes) in Denham Springs and a satellite window and door showroom (Windows By Holmes) in Metairie, Louisiana. Our family and team take great pride in our commitment to unparalleled customer service.
