NSC was founded in 1945 by John and Joe Nabbefeld. Family ownership has transitioned
through the years from Michael Jersa to the present day. Lenny Knese represents the third
generation in the role of President and owner. NSC’s primary business is distribution of
pipe, valves, fittings and everything related for the mechanical/HVAC contractor, commercial
plumber, and industrial and institutional facility technician.
The core beliefs and values that started at the beginning of NSC, still remain to this day:

Training our customers has become a core competency. NSC was the first in St. Louis to invest
in a fully functional steam lab to help our customers learn more about steam. This has been
parlayed into a continuous and robust training program with the goal of ensuring that NSC
customers know how to apply, install, and maintain the products and equipment that we sell.
