1950 Carpenter Rigging & Supply Co., Inc. was founded by John L. Carpenter—for the repair of shipboard gear in the Bay Area. 1955 Carpenter obtained the first 1,200 ton swager (SN:1) ever made, giving them the highest capacity on the West Coast. 1972 Bernie Martin bought the Company and expanded operations through the acquisition of 10 rigging houses. 1992 Carpenter obtained a 1,500 ton press, increasing its sling manufacturing to 3” diameter wire. 1995 The Companies became dba’s under The Carpenter Group. 2003 The Carpenter Group received their first ISO 9001:2000 Registration. 2007 Cableco accredited first AS9100 certification for Aerospace. 2008 Bruce Yoder, long-time employee and General Manager of American Rigging, bought the Company from Bernie. 2009 Carpenter purchased a test bed with a pull capacity of 1.2 million pounds. 2016 Carpenter acquired Cable Moore in Oakland, helping to consolidate efforts in the Bay Area. 2019 Carpenter acquired California Swaging & Cable Products in Long Beach, another aerospace facility (AS9100 certified). 2021 Carpenter acquired Consolidated Rigging & Marine Supply in Jacksonville, Florida.
