Pierre Larmoyeux Sr. foundedPeninsular ElectricDistributors
in May of 1946. Mr. Larmoyeux had spent a number of years
in service with the FBI and had wanted to return to his home
state of Florida. He returned with his family and started a
business in electrical wholesaling.
During the 40s and 50s, Palm Beach County was primarily
a resort area. Mr. Larmoyeux’s business catered to the
electrical construction trade as well as contractors who
were involved in projects around the county.
Originally located in downtown West Palm Beach,
Peninsular Electric had three employees, one delivery
vehicle and boasted 5,000 square feet of warehouse space.
Business flourished and a new location was required.
Today, operations are housed in a facility that spans 65,000 square
feet with 17 delivery vehicles and employs over 80 people.
Pierre passed away in 1998. His vision of a strong, customer-
focused business matched with the thought that we should be
an exemplary community member has passed the test of time
as we approach our seventh decade of continuous business.
