During the past dozen years or so, our industry has undergone a
number of changes. Many small, independent distributors were
acquired by large national chains or foreign conglomerates. The
general tendency with these acquisitions was to downsize the
local branches, strip them of personnel and inventory, and service
customers from a distant distribution center. At Peninsular Electric,
we resisted the temptation to sell out to various investment groups.
We continue to serve our customers in
the same manner instilled in our humble
beginnings.
Service is the driving force and character
that is evident throughout our organization’s
expert staff. Our outside sales team consists of
veterans with a minimum of 20 years in sales
in our market area. They are knowledgeable
and continue to work with our manufacturers’
continued education efforts.
Our outside sales representatives are well-
equipped to handle detailed switchgear and
lighting inquiries and purchases as well as
adept with projects that require breadth and
depth of products outside the normal gear and
fixture package requirements.
Our outside sales team leans on an inside sales
force and counter personnel who are extremely
knowledgeable as well. Both inside sales and
counter sales are eager to serve our customers
from 7am to 5pm.
Peninsular Electric maintains an excellent
quotation team which is staffed by two former
estimators from electrical contractors in our
area. We have recently implemented cutting-
edge software that addresses long-term
switchgear and lighting project management.
We are also known for our emergency
and/or after-hour service capabilities.
We continue to set the standard for
emergency response—truly serving
customers in need—daily.
